Paralegal or Trainee Paralegal Vacancy

Excellent opportunity for either an experienced Paralegal or trainee Paralegal to join a small busy firm in Llandeilo.

The role involves various areas of law including family and children, civil litigation, court attendance, LPAs, debt recovery, landlord and tenant and commercial matters.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal support to Director/Solicitor, Fee Earners.
  • Professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and a sensitive understanding of clients’ needs
  • Assisting with casework including a range of matters
  • Collation of details and processing evidence
  • Drafting of witness statements and other court documents and using the courts portal systems
  • Drafting of case summaries, briefs to counsel and letters of instruction to experts
  • Preparing bundles for hearings and circulating them to court and the relevant parties
  • Making expert enquiries or obtaining counsel for hearings
  • Dealing with clients and attending client meetings and taking notes
  • Attending court when necessary
  • Dealing with online search transactions and enquiries
  • Drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Undertaking research
  • Maintaining accurate time-costing procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with file management
  • General office administration including scheduling client meetings, filing, writing letters, seeing clients, answering phone calls and taking messages.
 

Key Skills Required:

  • Demonstrate passion and an interest or experience in law
  • A strong academic background
  • Business acumen and the ability to market the Company
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all types of people and with a professional attitude
  • Strong customer service skills, patience and consideration for dealing with clients
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance
  • Committed team player, self-motivated and professional
  • The ability to multitask and manage taks and caseloads
  • The ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills – familiar with Microsoft Office applications, Excel and document management skills
  • Good administration skills – typing, filing, letter writing etc.

Role Details:

  • This is a full time position Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
  • Location: Llandeilo
  • Job is office based
  • Salary will be dependent on experience
  • Opportunity for progression within the role and firm.
